Channel Tunnel Builder' Wins £60m Hammersmith Flyover Contract
A British construction company, has been tasked by Transport for London with a major undertaking to strengthen the crumbling Hammersmith Flyover.
The “Costain” company, which took part in the construction of the Thames Barrier and the Channel Tunnel, will be reinforcing the concrete with high-strength steel strands, replacing bearings, waterproofing and resurfacing the road as well as replacing the drainage.
The total price of the project, including the work done by early contractors, will amount to 200m pounds.
Such a large investment is necessary for project like this, because it enables companies to offer the best possible value and quality for the lowest possible price, like the cleaners in Fulham do. In comparison, several small projects would be significantly more expensive.
